Welcome to Canoma 1.0

Introducing MetaCreations Canoma, revolutionary software that allows Web content developers and
graphic artists to quickly and easily create photo-realistic 3D models from 2D photos or scanned
images. These models can be posted on Web sites, used in electronic catalogs, imported into
traditional 3D modeling and animation packages or combined with MetaCreations' MetaStream 3D
streaming technology to provide a complete solution for creating 3D models and distributing them via
the Web.

objects. Use the '-' button to delete key frames.

The complete set of Macintosh key equivalents is printed on your quick reference card (QRC).

KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES/LIMITATIONS

Win: Numeric fields do not display fonts correctly if you have your system display properties set to
"large fonts." Change to small fonts to correct this.

Win: You must have a "temp" folder on your 'C:' drive or Canoma will crash on launch. This folder is
used by Windows and should be there.

Win: Getting black or dark blue constraint feedback can be caused by your display driver. Try
changing your Windows display setting to a different bit depth.

Mac: Adobe Type manager version 3.8.2 or newer must be installed to run under QuickDraw GX.

Mac: Keypad 4,8,6,2 keys do not pan the scene as specified on the QRC.

Information in 'Status Tips' is inappropriate for the zoom or hand tools.

When saving animation frames to disk, there will be no warning dialog if Canoma needs to save over an
existing file.

All source image files for a project must be in the same folder.

For applying textures and viewing models, Canoma requires available space on the system drive and the
drive that the project resides on. The amount depends on the resolution and complexity of the textures.

When transferring files from a Macintosh version of Canoma to the Windows version you must make sure
the file name ends with the .3dv extension.

When transferring files from a Windows version of Canoma to the Macintosh version you must change the
creator type on Macintosh to a Canoma file. Use the "Convert Win Projects to Mac" AppleScript droplet
to set the correct filetype and creator.

Animation key frames are spline interpolated. This is to make the motion between key frames smooth.
This can create undesirable motion between identical key frames. If you need more control over camera
motion you will need to export the Canoma 3D data into another 3D application such as Ray Dream
Studio.

The "Floor rectangle" is a single sided polygon. This polygon only faces upwards, and is transparent
if viewed from below. Use a horizontal rectangle if this behavior is not desired.
